Why exederm

Formulated With Sensitive Skin in Mind

Hair conditioners are notorious when it comes to irritating sensitive skin or scalp. To achieve a richy, silky product feel, many manufacturers resort to adding numerous chemical additives. Too many conditioners contain ingredients that may irritate sensitive skin and scalp, for those with eczema or seborrheic dermatitis — allergic reactions and skin rash are too common.

When it comes to ingredients watch out for fragrances and exotic botanical extracts, many of which use artificial essences. If you have sensitive skin or a sensitive scalp make sure to check your conditioner label to avoid fragrance and other unnecessary additives or harsh chemicals.

We believe that eczema, dermatitis and sensitive skin sufferers are different. Eczema sufferers have very sensitive itchy skin and need to avoid even mild irritants whenever possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to use conditioner if I have scalp eczema?

Yes, but choosing the right formula is crucial. Shampooing removes excess oil and debris, but it can leave delicate hair strands and sensitive scalp skin needing moisture. Using a specialized, fragrance-free conditioner like exederm helps restore softness and manageability without adding harsh chemicals, synthetic scents, or heavy botanical oils that can trigger scalp irritation and itching.

How do I apply conditioner without irritating my scalp?

After rinsing out exederm Daily Care Shampoo, work a small amount of exederm Daily Conditioner through your hair, focusing on the ends and mid-lengths. If your scalp is particularly dry or sensitive, gently smooth the conditioner over the scalp without aggressive scrubbing. Leave it on for 1–2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool or lukewarm water to avoid triggering flare-ups.

Is exederm conditioner suitable for seborrheic dermatitis?

Yes. exederm Daily Conditioner is specifically formulated for ultra-sensitive skin conditions, including scalp eczema and seborrheic dermatitis. It delivers light, itch-free hydration to soothe sensitive scalps while leaving hair soft and manageable.

Does exederm conditioner contain heavy fragrances or botanical extracts?

No. Many hair care products rely on synthetic fragrances or "exotic" botanical oils to mask chemical scents, which are a leading cause of contact dermatitis and scalp irritation. exederm avoids added fragrances, artificial dyes, parabens, lanolin, and unnecessary herbal extracts, focusing on essential, ultra-gentle conditioning.

Will exederm conditioner weigh down thin or fine hair?

No. Unlike conventional conditioners that rely on heavy waxes, thick oils, or harsh buildup-prone polymers, exederm features a lightweight, non-irritating formula. It hydrates hair to improve manageability and reduce tangle-related breakage without leaving a greasy or heavy residue behind.

Can I use exederm conditioner on color-treated or chemically treated hair?

Yes. exederm Daily Conditioner is free from harsh sulfates, drying alcohols, and reactive additives that strip hair color or weaken chemically processed hair. It provides safe, daily moisture while protecting fragile scalps.
